Protecting our schools with Raptor Technologies

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Here is some helpful information to know before visiting one of our schools.

You will need to scan your ID using the Raptor System even if you have done so in the past. Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID, which will be scanned into the system. The Raptor System checks to ensure that registered sex offenders are not entering our buildings. Note that the Raptor System only scans the visitor's name, date of birth, and photo for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. Additional visitor data from the ID is not gathered nor accessible by users, and the system is not connected to any other organization such as the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Scanning an ID with the Raptor System allows the district to check visitors against customized databases for custody alerts and/or banned visitors. It also allows for accurate visitor records and sign-in history for every visitor every time they enter our schools.

Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, date, and purpose of the visit. A visitor badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork. If a person does not have identification, he/she can still be given access to the building but will be escorted by a school staff member.

If you are interested in learning more about the Raptor System, please visit Raptor Technologies’ website (www.raptortech.com). If you have any questions for district personnel, please contact Doyle Syling at 575-812-6075.

RSVP for your student's next school event!

To RSVP for a school event, please choose your student's school below and complete the Google form. Completing this form prior to any school event will expedite entry to your student's school and your Raptor name tag will be printed prior to the event. If you have not yet had your physical ID scanned at one of our schools, please do so as soon as possible, preferably prior to any event so that your tag can be printed in advance. If you have questions about Raptor and RSVP'ing to school events you can call your school's secretary or the Administrative Assistant for Safety & Security, Kelly Scharmack at 575-812-6074. Thank you for joining us for school events and for helping to keep our schools safe!
